Talking about the twists, it definitely had a great shock value. ![]() In fact, you will be shocked to go through the revelations and plot twist. Gillian Flynn writes about horrible women doing horrible things and Dark Places is no different. Let me tell you that it is not a nice sight. As a reader, you are allowed to enter inside the head of both Libby Day and Ben Day. Gillian Flynn brilliantly captures the reader’s attention and keeps unfolding things one at a time. The narrative takes place in two timelines – the present day and the past, before the Day family was massacred. If reading this plot had made you interested in the book, Dark Places certainly has a lot to offer you. Is Ben innocent? If yes, then who massacred the family? As she links things together, she realizes that each member of her family had their own dark secrets. Upon hearing their explanations, she begins questioning herself and tries to explore what had actually happened that night. At this point, she is contacted by a group of people who are convinced that her brother Ben is innocent. In her early thirties, she has no job and all her money is gone as well. She was just seven years old when her mother and sisters were killed in her own home and her evidence put her fifteen-year-old brother behind bars.Įver since then, she has been living a life worth no meaning. My Rating: 4 I picked Dark Places with similar expectations.Īs usual, the protagonist here is a girl – Libby Day. ![]()
